Professional Sales Skills - Finding Your Perfect Customer
Professional Sales Skills - Discovering Your Perfect Client will assist you work smarter, work relaxed and eventually work focused.
The old maxim in the sales business is that boosting sales is a "numbers" game. The more people you approach, the more of the pipeline you fill, the more outstanding you will be.
I would want to doubt that. I am not suggesting that you refuse sales opportunities, I am indicating that you have a specific variety of people you get on best with.
When I look at my selling over the last 25 years, my own sales business took off when I goal-set, when I understood my own unique selling point and when I understood who my "perfect" customer is.
If you choose not to goal-set, to perform without discovering your exceptional selling point or not to consider who your "perfect" client is, the risk is that you'll be operating harder than those that do, you'll be less relaxed, more stressed than you would essentially like to be and the aim will be to "run around like a headless chicken."
Do you acknowledge or disagree with the above? Why or why not?
So who is your "perfect" client?
My ideal client is a lady between the ages of 35 - 55. She will be single. She may or may not have adult children who worry about her security. She may just need peace of mind for herself. She will go shopping in Marks and Spencers. She is a lady that wants the nice things in life but comprehends that "money does doesn't grow on trees."
She will be a competent modern working woman perhaps working in the Public service. She will be an an accountant, a general practitioner, an attorney or a dental professional. She may even run her own business.
What about you?
Who is your "perfect" consumer? What does she look like? How old is she? What is her marital status ?How many kids does she have? How old are they? What does she do for a living?Where does she shop? What does she do in her spare time? What does she like to eat and drink?Where does she go on vacation?
These are just a few of the topics requested to build a picture of your optimal consumer. Of course your "perfect" consumer might not be female.
The tip is to ask yourself as many questions as you can about your "perfect" consumer and identify him or her.
